The advantages of 5G and 6G networking technologies for their use on Internet of Things

This presentation is an overview of the 5G, 6G, Internet of Things (IoT) and Internet of Everything (IoE) technologies. It describes the evolution of the cellular network, its speeds and the challenges coming such as power saving and signal absorption, signal refraction and diffraction.

It provides information about the Device to Device (D2D) communication and the Low Power Wide Area Networks (LPWAN) technologies like SigFox, LoRa, WiFi, ZigBee and NB-IoT. At the end, a short reference to the Control Plane and User Plane Separation (CUPS) within the core IPv4 and IPv6 networking is made which is the foundation of the Network Slicing for the 5G core network with a reference to the 6G network and its challenges comparing to the 5G.
